With the Earth Below consists of 10 songs arranged and produced by renowned Brazilian guitarist and composer Carioca Freitas with lyrics and music by Matt Coffman.

With the Earth Below is a collection of songs that evokes the spirit of spring–the arrival of new life, buds on the trees and the return of warmth.

Guitar, soprano guitar, cello, flute and male and female vocals intertwine across all 10 tracks (and there’s even a little kalimba thrown in for good measure!)

This album is a genuine example of World Music. It was birthed in Nashville, recorded, mixed and mastered in Rio de Janeiro with musicians from the U.S., Brasil, Greece and Israel combining elements of folk, bluegrass, Brazilian jazz, classical guitar and gospel music.
