September StringLove Guitar Update

September StringLove Guitar UpdateIt’s been an exciting summer here at StringLove Guitar headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee.

After setting this site up in May and tentatively beginning to fill it with some early content, I’ve recently been able to dig in and really start making this site a fantastic place to head for solid guitar instruction and guitar-related information.

Here’s a quick overview of where things are standing on StringLove right now:

Online Guitar Lessons

This section of the site currently has 18 different guitar lessons targeting beginning guitarists’ most common difficulties and challenges.

If you’re trying to learn to play the guitar, definitely check out these lessons. You’ll find helpful tips on how to tune a guitar, easy beginner guitar chords, how to start playing guitar up the neck and many more.

Soon, I’ll include videos to go with all those lessons. I’ve been learning the ins and outs of creating video for the web and look forward to sharing the fruits of these labors!

My forays into online publishing have come in fits and starts until very recently. I was reluctant to spend so much time on a computer instead of holding a guitar. But, at last, I’m getting more and more acquainted with running this blog, updating the social media and generating tons of great content.

I’ve begun posting on twitter, so definitely follow me for lots of great guitar and general musical tips.

Also, I finally got my first album’s songs all up on the site with links to purchase them if you’re so inclined.

Each song has its own page where you’ll find some brief notes on the song as well as the full lyrics and accompanying chords. At the bottom of each song page, you’ll find a link to download a PDF of the lyrics and chords for your viewing and practicing pleasure.

And that’s just the beginning! StringLove Guitar headquarters moved from Franklin to Nashville back in July, and I’m finally settling in here in Cherokee Park. I’m really loving the new space–it’s fantastic for teaching both in-person and skype lessons. It’s centrally located here in Nashville, so if you’re ever in town, definitely be in touch so we can meet up and do a Nashville guitar lesson!

As I keep moving forward, my appreciation for the power of the guitar and music in general continues to grow. It is very easy to forget what matters most in life. But it is also very easy to remember how lucky we are and how precious these lived moments really are. If you’re slipping into forgetting, remember that your guitar can reconnect you to the ever-present beauty and grace that surround and sustain us.

My mission here through my music, my teaching and my writing is to inspire and uplift as many humans as possible. I’m all about Love, Truth, Beauty and the Good here at StringLove, and if you’re interested in those things as well, then keep coming back here to get regular reminders.

Finally, if you haven’t already, please join my mailing list! I’ll keep you posted on all the exciting developments coming over the fall and into the winter including my new album, which I’ll be wrapping up for a February 2011 release!
