Round and Round – The Wedding Song of 2010
Well, this trip to Eugene, Oregon is wrapping up. Friends and family are starting to say their goodbyes after an amazing weekend of wedding festivities.
Max and Eva’s wedding was held this morning at Dorris Ranch in Springfield, Oregon. Dorris Ranch boasts the oldest hazelnut orchard in all of the United States. Hazelnuts crunched underfoot (one even nailed me in the head as it leapt out of the branches), and the morning sunlight glinted through the forest branches in the little glade where we gathered for the wedding.
Ankur Shah presided as the officiant of the ceremony, and Max and Eva looked gorgeous in their wedding attire.
One of the most beautiful aspects of the ceremony was when Max and Eva asked each of the guests present at their wedding to stand so they could recognize them in turn. We all met each other through their love for the attendees. I had a huge lump in my throat from the incredible display of love they showed to all the people who came to love them on their wedding day.
In the middle of the ceremony, we played one of my original songs off of Spirited–Round and Round. If you haven’t yet, I highly suggest you buy the song and bring it into your life. And I don’t say that just as the song’s author–this is the second wedding in a month for which I’ve played Round and Round, and it has been such an honor to bring the positive message of the song into such a beloved and blessed occasion as my close friends’ weddings.
There’s always time and space for more gratitude here on Earth. The wedding celebration of Max and Eva today was an exquisite eruption of joy in a sweet little meadow in Springfield, Oregon. I hope, wherever you are, that you’re enjoying a day of light and love.
Here’s to the good things in life: among them, family, friends, good food, laughter, beautiful music, time together, dancing, sharing and hugs.
